I know it's a bold statement but believe me when i say, it's TRUE, My name is Mitch and thats a pic of me having alot of Fun, i was medically retired from the Military in 2016 with multiple Physical and Mental injuries. Ranging from Chronic Back,Neck and Shoulder issues, complex Nerve Pain on the entire right hand side of my body and a huge dose of Chronic PTSD to boot and the so called cherry on the top i was diagnosed with a rare and complex Pain Syndrome(1: 8 Million). For years i tried to fight my demons all alone, but i had no true understanding of what i was battling. PTSD was slowly taking the lives of my mates, and my Marriage was now in tatters.
I was in a Extremely lonely place until the day i found Fishing.On that day i could actually see some light and the end of my lifes tunnel. And what i found was the start of my "Healing Process" just being on the water gave me a feeling of Peace, at that exact moment i realised i could fight back using Fishing as one of my strategies to manage my Anxiety, Depression ,Frustration and the biggest killer of all - my Loneliness.
It's hard to say this but "Four Walls Kill" Mental health diseases are real and very debilitating.
Unfortunately' i still had to find that missing piece. You see conventional fishing was causing me agonising physical pain, but all the while giving me mental freedom. Over the next three months I spent Thousands on my fishing setup i purchased only the best High quality gear I brought a Venom Rod and i paired it with a Tanacom 1000 Electric reel. It was great but i was still in horrible indescribable Pain. My mission was now to find the Very best Fishing Rod to allow me to be happy while fishing but "Heres The Kicker" try to stay Pain Free.

After months of searching all i had to show for my time was a commercial application (From Sweden) that did everything for you, but thats not what i needed or wanted. It was very important for me to be part of the process of actually Catching my own Fish.
It wasn't for another 8 weeks that i found exactly what i needed and wanted. Man was i plesantly surprised to find my "Fishing Holy Grail" was right here where i live! in fact, a mere 10 Minute drive down the road. On paper this chunk of metal seems to do everything that i had been searching for, I left a message and less than 30 Minutes later i was talking with Jack the CEO of www.gunnellrod.com after talking with me for 40 odd minutes Jack challenged me. He said, "I'm going to give you one of our prototype Gunnell Rods and I want you to try and break my Gunnell Rod." Over the next month i tried - believe me. And this was with the first prototype it was absouloutely indestructible it was an unbelieveable feeling "Fishing Pain Free" for hours on end. I now have 3 GRV2 Gunnell Rods and are so incredibly happy with them fishing with the GRV2 has saved my life , and now its my Lifes Purpose to share that feeling with many other Injured Veterans who are invited onto my Boat "Peacemaker" and fish for FREE, because like many others who have had such positive results with the Gunnell Rod I was personally asked by Jack to share my story to help Promote and Sell the latest Prototype the GRV2 Gunnell Rod. And of course i happily agreed.
Fast forward 12mths as i said above. I now own 3 GRV2 Gunnell rods, for my boat and i haven't looked back. When i first started Fishing i had to medicate myself, because of the pain i was in. That was before we even got onto the fish. Now there's zero requirement to medicate, the GRV2 has given me back my swagger. I'm "Happy" and "Pain Free" and i have learned to manage my chronic PTSD - all because of fishing with a GRV2 Gunnell Rod.

The Gunnell Rod was created with simplicity in mind. 3 screws and a handle is all it takes to assemble! The GRV2 features: Knuckle Joint- this moves in 5 degree increments allowing the GRV2 to suit any rod holder. This also allows the GRV2 to be folded in half for easy storage.
